Discussion & Feedback for Spots project.
Spots is a community where people share, discuss, and discover venues to eat, shop, and relax. Specificity is what sets Spots apart similar sites. You see, Spots takes a unique approach to storing information about venues. Instead of listing each venue as one general entry, it breaks down all of the characteristics and details that make up each location, (such as menu items, prices, and hours of operation) and stores them as modular entries. Why do this? First off, modular entries allow for users to search specifically. (Find Crab Cakes, not just Seafood Restaurants.) Secondly, it allows for search to be catered to the users needs. (Find places serving Crab Cakes within 8 blocks of me that are open at 2AM.) Finally, it allows for ratings and comparison to be done on the micro level. (Which Crab Cakes have the highest rating in Baltimore, MD) By doing this users are able to get the information they need, when they need it.
