During Earth Day weekend, The American Cities Foundation (ACF) will host its inaugural Urban Environmental Summit. The Summit will be held from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the High School of the Future, 4021 Parkside Avenue in Philadelphia.

This free, one-day intensive summit will bring together community leaders, environmental activists, and residents and feature workshops discussing urban environmentalism's impact on job development and business growth and a youth-led workshop addressing global environmental issues.

Participants will also have the opportunity to take an active role in the "Project NEAT" Tree Planting Tour which will plant trees in West Philadelphia. Although the event is free, participants must register in advance. To register, participants may send an email to info@amcities.org or call (215) 476-8091 ext. 303.

Founded in 1992, The American Cities Foundation began work with the twin missions of revitalizing urban centers and improving the quality of life for youth and families. For more information, visit www.amcities.org.
